Paravac was born in 1943 in Kostajnica near Doboj.

After the first multi-party elections in BiH, as an SDS official, he performed the duties of president of the Executive Committee of the Doboj Municipal Administration for a whole decade.

Paravac was a deputy in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska and a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and then a member of the BiH Presidency from among the Serbian people. He was also a member of the Senate of the Republika Srpska.

Paravac was accused of war crimes at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and after an almost ten-year trial, he was legally acquitted in December 2025.
