Former Students of Sarajevo’s First Gymnasium reunite in Classroom 50 Years after Graduation

While graduates across Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) celebrate the end of their high school education, one generation reminisced about their school days from 50 years ago.

Former graduates of the 1970-1974 generation of Sarajevo’s First Gymnasium reunited after 50 years, sitting once again in their old school desks and recalling their youth.

Despite a downpour, the joy and smiles of the former students who gathered in front of the First Gymnasium were undeterred, and they continued their reunion inside the school’s premises.

They began by singing the song “De Brevitate Vitae” (On the Shortness of Life), better known as “Gaudeamus,” which has been adopted as a student anthem in many European countries.

The former gymnasium students warmly greeted each other, engaged in conversations, showed photos on their phones, and some even brought old photographs from their school days.

The celebration of their 50th graduation anniversary continued in one of Sarajevo’s restaurants, Klix.ba reports.
