In the Official Gazette of BiH was published the decision on the increase of “tolls”, which is a different term for often mentioned and disputed higher excises on petroleum products.

In the Official Gazette of BiH was stated that the toll, as a type of indirect tax, is paid on biofuels and bio fluids as well as petroleum products. The toll is paid in the following amount:

  • approximately 0.15 BAM per liter of product or kilogram of liquid petroleum gas for roads and
  • approximately 0.25 BAM per liter of product or kilogram of liquid petroleum gas for the construction of highways and the construction and reconstruction of other roads, of which 0.20 BAM refers to the construction of highways and 0.05 BAM to the construction and reconstruction of other roads.

In other words, BH drivers will get the fuel prices increased by 0.18 BAM (0.15 BAM of increased tolls and 0.03 BAM for VAT) on February 1.

New levies were included into the part referring to the construction of highways and the construction and reconstruction of other roads. They amounted to 0.10 BAM until now, and they will be increased to 0.25 BAM on February 1.

Therefore, state levies in the price of a liter of fuel, or a kilogram of liquid petroleum gas, were increased to a minimum of 0.71 BAM without VAT.

Besides 0.40 BAM for the construction and maintenance of roads, our “standard excises” (0.30-0.40 BAM) and 0.01 BAM for the establishment of oil terminals remained included in the price of fuel.
