Revenues from indirect taxes for the first five months of 2025 amounted to 4 billion and 714 million KM and are 217 million KM or 4.82 percent higher than revenues in the same period of 2024, when they amounted to 4 billion and 497 million KM, the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITA BiH) announced.
In the first five months of 2025, the Authority refunded VAT to taxpayers who had exercised their legal right to a refund, in the amount of 921 million KM.
Net revenues collected that went to be distributed to beneficiaries for the first five months of 2025, namely the state, entities and the Brčko District of BiH, amounted to 3 billion and 793 million KM and are 4.57 percent higher than revenues distributed to beneficiaries for the first five months of 2024.
In May this year, 965 million KM of indirect taxes were collected, which is 70 million KM or 7.79 percent more than in May 2024.
408 million KM was allocated for financing state institutions in the first five months of 2025. The rest of the collected revenues from indirect taxes ended up with the entities and the Brčko District of BiH. Thus, the Federation of BiH received 2 billion and 73 million KM from the single account, the Republika Srpska 1 billion and 161 million KM and the Brčko District of BiH 117 million KM.
Based on the special toll for the construction of highways and the construction and reconstruction of other roads (0.25 KM), the Federation of BiH received an additional 94 million KM, the Republika Srpska 62 million KM and the Brčko District of BiH three million KM. The difference represents a reserve in the special account for tolls in the amount of 0.25 KM.
