On Sept. 14th, the Austrian Ambassador Martin Pammer gave a farewell reception at the Austrian Embassy for the first group of Bosnian-Herzegovinian cadets, who will start their officer`s education at the prestigious Maria Theresian Military Academy in Austria. These young men passed successfully the demanding selection process conducted by the Armed Forces of BIH in August 2017. They were awarded the opportunity for academic studies in Austria.

Next week they will depart to Austria to start their education process to become professional graduated officers. At the end they will return to BiH as lieutenants with an Austrian university degree in their pockets.

Ambassador Pammer congratulated them and wished them a lot of success for their studies in Austria. He stressed that the young generation of BiH is key to a stable and prosperous future of BiH. Hence, Austria is always ready to invest and support in this regard. In 2018 the next class will follow them to Austria.

Austria preserves its neutrality since 1955. However, Austrian soldiers are involved in peace support operations all over the world for the last 60 years.
