Gantz requested a Plan for Gaza by June 8

Israeli War Minister Benny Gantz has demanded that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commit to an agreed vision for the Gaza conflict that would include determining who could rule the territory after the war with Hamas.

Ganz said he wanted the war cabinet to form a six-point plan by June 8.

If his expectations are not met, Gantz added, he will withdraw his centrist party from the national unity government.

Gantz’s party entered the government of national unity after the outbreak of conflict with Hamas.

Israel attacked the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7 last year that killed around 1,200 people.

More than 35,300 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have since been killed and more than 79,300 injured, according to Palestinian health authorities.

Israel is accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop the genocidal acts and take measures to ensure humanitarian aid is provided to civilians in Gaza.
