The Deputy Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), Slaven Galic, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense of BiH, signed an Annex to the Technical Agreement between the Ministries of Defense of BiH and the Federal Republic of Germany on a donation of 1.800.000 euros intended for the implementation of infrastructure projects at the location of the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) “Tufo Buza” in Visoko, it was announced by the Ministry of Defense of BiH.

On behalf of the German Ministry of Defense, the signatory of the Annex to the Agreement is Colonel Marc Abendroth, the Defense Attache of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH. In addition, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in BiH, Renaud Meyer, as the head of the Weapons Adhering Secured Sites Project (WASSP), within which this donation is implemented, signed a letter on the financial transfer of these funds with the Federal Republic of Germany.

Galic thanked the representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany for their continuous assistance in financing projects that increase the level of security of storage facilities, as well as the living conditions of members of the AFBiH.

“Thank you very much for the help and support you provide us in all areas of cooperation, and especially for the assistance in the implementation of infrastructure projects at military locations. With your selfless help, you contribute to the modernization of the AFBiH and the construction of a higher level of security, both for the members of the AFBiH and for the local population,” said Galic.

In the first phase of the implementation of this agreement, numerous infrastructure works were carried out on the repair of existing buildings and the construction of new ones, installation of heat pumps, installation of new windows, as well as the preparation of necessary studies for further works in the amount of 4.109.000 euros.

The repair of several facilities is underway, and completion is planned for the beginning of next year.

Within the second phase of the project, the repair and construction of additional facilities, a gas station, a car wash, and asphalt surfaces are planned.

German Colonel Abendroth stated that the continuity of further assistance of the Federal Republic of Germany in improving the living and working conditions in the AFBiH will not be lacking.
