Germany donates Funds for Modernization of the Armed Forces Storage Facilities

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Policy and Plans, Slaven Galić, and the Military Envoy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colonel Franz Josef Nolte, on Wednesday in Sarajevo, signed a technical arrangement for the donation of funds for the modernization of the storage facilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Visoko.

On this occasion, the letter on the financial transfer of funds from FR Germany for this project was signed by the acting resident representative of the UN Development Program (UNDP) for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sylvain Merlen. A donation in the amount of 1,350,000 euros will improve the conditions for storing weapons in the storage of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Teufik Buza” in Visoko.

As emphasized by the German military envoy, Colonel Nolte, these financial resources are part of the total German aid of about 6.7 million euros, which the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany allocated this year for the modernization of facilities of the Armed Forces of BiH at locations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for the first series new field uniforms of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The Federal Republic of Germany is our proven and reliable partner, which was especially confirmed through various projects that improved the living and working conditions of our soldiers this year. This is especially important when it relates to our training centers, because young people who enter military service in these centers get that first impression of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina that they have just joined,” Galić pointed out.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina thanked the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as the UNDP, which supported this initiative of the Federal Republic of Germany and joined the project. Colonel Notle pointed out that the German side gives full support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its way to membership in Euro-Atlantic integration and supports the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in its activities.
