Thanks to the support of the Government of Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the CS, significant financial resources are allocated every year for the stimulation, development and improvement of filmmaking and film production. In the last few years, this area has reached a high level of development in Sarajevo Canton.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports of the CS has shown unreserved support and growth of funds for cinematography through the allocation of grant funds for film production and the allocation of incentive funds for film production, and the total value of the support is BAM 5,401,412.70.

Significant support is also allocated to the Sarajevo Film Festival, which is one of the most important film, cultural and social events in Sarajevo, BiH and the region. The festival is a generator of a positive atmosphere in our city with a significant impact on the economy, tourism and other economic sectors.

Sarajevo is also a UNESCO city of film, which means that as a city we have decided that the creative industry and film will be the drivers of the city’s cultural, economic and social development, and as such, Sarajevo will always be recognizable as the center of film culture, which it is one of the basic tasks of the line ministry.

For this reason, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the CS in the coming period, in cooperation with the profession, will work on the development of strategic directions for development in this area, where, in addition to already proven authors, young directors and screenwriters will also get an opportunity for support.

In the interest of society in Bosnia and Herzegovina and all fans of film and series, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the CS will always sincerely, dedicatedly and transparently support the development of Bosnian cinematography, as well as the Sarajevo Film Festival, announced the Protocol and Press Service of the CS.
