Grand Opening of the Second Ramadan Festival in Sarajevo Today

sarajevo ramadan festivalThe Sarajevo Ramadan Festival will be officially opened on Wednesday, June 17th 2015, starting from 8:15 p.m., at the Yellow Bastion in Sarajevo.

The Sarajevo Ramadan Festival, the project that aims to present the Islamic culture and art, as well as the beautiful Ramadan customs, was created by the Zone of improved business (ZUP Bascarsija and the Foundation Sarajevo Navigator for the purpose of further completing the tourist offer of the destination Sarajevo.

Once again, this year’s Sarajevo Ramadan Festival will be opened with the firing of the canon from the Yellow Bastion in the dusk on June 17th, when the month of Ramadan officially begins, and will last until July 17th, 2015.

The programs within the Sarajevo Ramadan Festival are a part of the project ”PHOENIX-Culture for Future”, funded by the EU and realized by the Municipality Stari Grad Sarajevo, ZUP Bascarsija and the Foundation Sarajevo Navigator.

The project ”PHOENIX-Culture for Future” lasts for 18 months and is a part of the program ”Sarajevo 2014″ funded by the EU within the framework of marking the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War, with the aim to send a message of peace, conciliation and solidarity from Sarajevo worldwide.
