basicBesides Damir Dzumhur, another great BH tennis player Mirza Basic will perform at the Olympic Games that will be held from 5th to 21st of August in Rio de Janeiro.

In fact, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) informed the Tennis Association of BiH and the Olympic Committee of BiH that a place for Mirza Basic is opened, and after our tennis player officially confirmed the desire to play at the Olympics, the application was submitted to Olympic consultant in the ITF.

“The dream of every athlete is to perform at the Olympics and it is a great honor for me to represent my country,” said Mirza Basic.

“As Damir Dzumhur already qualified for the Olympics, BiH will now be represented by two players which is a huge thing for such a small country,” said Senad Hadzimesic, director of the Tennis Association of BiH.

Tennis matches will take place from the 6th to 14th of August at the Olympic tennis center in Rio on hard courts. The Olympics will be attended by 172 players in 5 competitions: men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles, and mixed couples.
