A joint project of the US and Swedish governments, Growth-Oriented Local Development (GOLD), in cooperation with local partners, has supported, upholsterers and sewers in the factory of upholstered furniture “Sinkro” in Sarajevo.
The main objective of the USAID SIDA Project Growth-Oriented Local Development (GOLD) is a strong support to local communities in economic development, attracting investments and creating new jobs.
Assistant Director General of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) Elsa Hastad said that this project has a number of positive things, and that “the greatest” is certainly the employment of young people.
“We all know that jobs are not created with a magic wand, which is why this project is of great importance due to these 60 jobs,” said the USAID Mission Director to BiH David J. Brath.
The USAID SIDA GOLD project develops a model of sustainable local economic development whereby the partner municipalities will create a model of economic development, which will be applicable throughout the country as the basis for sustainable economic growth.
The owner and director of “Sinkro” Omar Kustra expressed his satisfaction with the visit and thanked for the opportunity to employ young people.
