The Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Grubesa, met with the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative, Ambassador Johann Sattler.
During the meeting, they spoke about important issues that are within the competence of this ministry, and are among the priorities that BiH needs to meet on its European path according to the Opinion of the European Commission.
They especially touched upon the need for urgent adoption of the Law on Conflict of Interest and amendments to the Law on the High Judical Nad Prosecutor Office of BiH, which the Ministry of Justice of BiH is working on in coordination with the European Commission.
In addition to the mentioned laws, the Laws on Courts, the Draft Law on Freedom of Access to Information, the Law on Civil Service, and the Agreement on Cooperation between BiH and Eurojust were also mentioned as priorities.
Minister Grubesa emphasized that the Ministry of Justice of BiH is actively working and finding the best possible legal solutions for resolving key issues in the field of judicial reform, rule of law and public administration.
Aware of the current political situation, both sides assessed that without a strong joint dialogue, BiH cannot progress on its path to European integration.
Ambassador Sattler welcomed the efforts of the Ministry of Justice of BiH, and once again emphasized his help and support to jointly achieve success in resolving these issues.
Minister Grubesa thanked Ambassador Sattler for his support so far, emphasizing that these are key priorities for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, and that he expects maximum involvement and efforts from all levels of government, the BiH Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
