HE Mostar in 2013 Produced 30 Percent More than Planned

“Hidroelektrana Mostar” from the beginning of 2013 to today produced 74 GWh, which is around 30 percent more than the planned amount for this period, announced ‘Elektroprivrede HZHB” after the visit of members of the Mostar Elektroprivreda to this plant.

HE Mostar achieved a record production in 2010 and produced 320 GWh of electrical energy.

As at other hydroelectric plants, there have been a number of revitalization activities on the modernization of equipment, and soon there will be other reconstruction activities.

HE Mostar was put into operation in 1987, and in the last war it suffered heavy damage and devastation while the engine power completely flooded. After renovation and after it was put into operation in November 1997 until now, HE Mostar produced around 3450 GWh of electrical energy, which has significantly contributed to the continued work on actual production in recent years.

Even though Mostar has a number of interesting facts related to its work, it is a flow-type hydroelectric dam with very little accumulation, and since it is the last one on the Neretva river basin, it constantly has to emit the minimum amount of water of 50 m3/s and has a planned annual standing power of only six hours, according to a statement.
