Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and IOM Coordinator for the Western Balkans Peter Van der Auweraert, visited the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs on Tuesday.

He discussed the current situation related to migration in BiH, as well as the continuation of cooperation in order to resolve the issue of increased influx of migrants. They pointed out that the most complicated situation is in the area of the Sarajevo Canton and the Una-Sana Canton.

Van der Auweraert said that conditions should be provided for migrants to be relocated from the streets to temporary reception centers, as the situation will be further complicated in the coming period, stated the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs on Tuesday.

The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs emphasized the significant support from IOM, i.e. from the European Union through IPA funds in terms of resolving the migrant crisis.
