On the occasion of the meeting of the leaders of the coalition at the state level in Konjic three days ago, where the president of the Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik insulted the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, the Reis-ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Husein effendi Kavazovic spoke out.
“A meeting of people from the authorities was held in Konjic yesterday. Some say: it would have been better if it hadn’t been held. Eight more days until July 11th, and heavy, mindless words were spoken. How to get over the swearing of the genocide in Srebrenica? One unreasonable man has been rubbing salt in a wound for years. Yesterday he poured gasoline on our house and has a match in his hand. If he doesn’t stop, we will burst into flames. It’s time for us all to come to our senses,” Kavazovic posted on his Facebook page on Saturday.
At the meeting in Konjic three days ago, a conflict arose when the president of the BiH entity RS Milorad Dodik cursed the genocide in Srebrenica, to which BiH Defense Minister Zukan Helez quickly retaliated, and made the details public.
The Director of the Srebrenica-Potocari Memorial and Cemetery for the Victims of the 1995 Genocide, Emir Suljagic, on the occasion of this conflict, called on the holders of the highest state positions to permanently cut off communication with the President of the RS entity, Milorad Dodik, after he grossly insulted the victims of the genocide.
“It is unacceptable to continue negotiating with a person who responds in this way to numerous offers of reconciliation and efforts to establish a dialogue. The incident in Konjic is a red line that Dodik has crossed, and there is no turning back for him,” Suljagic emphasized.
