Head of the OSCE Satisfied with Cooperation of BIH and Croatia Prosecution Offices

flečer bartonThe Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Fletcher Burton expressed his satisfaction yesterday with the signing of a protocol between the Croatian State Attorney’s Office and the BiH Prosecution Office on cooperation in the prosecution of perpetrators of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

“Perpetrators of war crimes must be brought to justice. The signing of this protocol is an expression of commitment of Croatia and BiH to end impunity and ensure accountability for war crimes. Our mission will continue to support the BIH Prosecutor Office and the judicial system as a whole in strengthening the rule of law in BiH. A greater exchange of information and evidence in the area of war crimes prosecution is an important and encouraging sign of greater regional cooperation’’, said Burton.

In January 2013 the BiH Prosecution Office and the War Crimes Prosecution of Serbia signed a similar protocol on the exchange of information and evidence.
