The Ministry of Finance of the Republika Srpska announced that the procedure for issuing a decision on the reprogramming of tax debts for a total of 41 public health institutions in the Republic of Srpska has been completed.

With the issuance of the decision on the reprogram, health workers who are employed in health centers and hospitals in the Republika Srpska, social insurance was made possible.

According to the data of the Tax Administration of Republika Srpska, healthcare institutions are among the biggest debtors for contributions. The largest debtor is the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska, followed by the hospitals in East Sarajevo, Doboj and Foča.

As a reminder, since August 1, free treatment in Republika Srpska is available only to workers and their families for whom the employer has paid health insurance, as well as citizens who have re-registered for one of the types of free insurance, in accordance with the category in which they are.

Citizens who were left without insurance after the lifting of the state of emergency could use health services until July 31 of this year. Until then, there was a transitional period, which was given by the Health Insurance Fund on the recommendation of the Government of the Republika Srpska, with the aim that employers who did not pay contributions settle their due obligations to the Fund, and citizens regulate their status if they have not done so so far.

Citizens who do not have health insurance in Republika Srpska must pay the full amount of health services. Instead of a co-payment of 1.5 BAM, the uninsured pay 30 BAM for an examination with a family doctor, and 40 BAM with a specialist doctor. Control examinations are 10 BAM cheaper than the first examination. Laboratory analysis of blood costs 50 BAM, giving injections 11 BAM, Srna news agency reports.
