Heating in RS has become 150% more expensive

The owners of boiler houses that heat a large number of new buildings in the Republika Srpska (RS) have delivered new price lists to tenants, which are up to 150 percent higher than last year. As a result, the citizens are put in a completely unenviable situation, and one month before the start of the heating season, they do not know how they will heat themselves, while a good number of them have decided to switch to electricity.

One of the tenants of the building in Banja Luka, which has its own boiler room, says that last year he paid an average of 60 to 70 BAM per month for heating, while, according to the new price list, the smallest bill will be 150 BAM.

He believes that the city of Banja Luka is discriminating among its residents if they decide to subsidize heating only to those who are connected to “Eko toplane”.

Citizens: The heating season is approaching, and we still don’t know what to do

The tenant adds that the city should, in addition to the users of the “Eko toplane”, subsidize other companies that deal with heating, stating that it is not the tenants’ fault that “Eko toplane” did not regulate their neighborhood.

”I have a calorimeter installed in my apartment and it was installed by the company that does our heating. Last year, in the season, my bills were between 60 and 70 BAM. According to the new price list, now my smallest bill will be 150 BAM. Most of the tenants are not able to pay such a price and now we are having problems with heating. The heating season is approaching, and we still don’t know what to do. The problem is that we were told earlier by “Elektrokrajina” that it is not possible for a large number of apartments to be heated with electricity because the transformer station cannot withstand it,” the tenant said.

He adds that these heating problems could cause big problems when November comes, Avaz writes.
