As heavy storms and rainfall in Italy caused flooding and overflow in many communities across the country, one person was reported dead after his car was washed away near Bologna.

Local media reported that the entire country was flooded due to the consequences of excessive rainfall.

It was established that the Ravone River near Bologna in the central part of the country overflowed due to heavy rainfall, and many streets were flooded.

Photos of the flooded streets and avenues of Bologna were published on social networks.

A 20-year-old man died in accidents caused by floods. His car was washed away last night in Pjanor, near Bologna.

It was reported that around a thousand people had to leave their homes due to flooding in the Emilia-Romagna region, where the city of Bologna is located.

On the other hand, it has been reported that the Po River has reached its overflow level in some places in Turin and Piacenza.

Catania, on the island of Sicily in the south of the country, was also affected by heavy rainfall.

Due to heavy rains, the runway and part of the platform at the Palermo airport were flooded. Last night the airport was closed to air traffic, and this morning it was opened, AA writes.
