srebrenica2The War Crime Chamber of the High Court in Belgrade ordered a 30- day custody for eight suspects of war crimes against civilians in the locality of Kravica in Srebrenica.

The preliminary proceedings judge ordered custody for the suspects in order to ensure that they don’t flee or interfere with the proceedings by influencing potential witnesses. The examination of witnesses was proposed by the Serbian war crimes prosecution, Tanjug reported

The suspects are charged with having committed the criminal offense of war crimes against civilians as co-perpetrators.

Department for disclosing war crimes at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, at the order of the Prosecutor’s Office for War Crimes, on Wednesday arrested the suspects in various locations. The crime in question is one of the mass scale.

Over 1,000 Muslim civilians are among the victims, whose remains were identified in mass graves at several locations, including Glogova 1 and 2 and Ravnice.

The Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of the Interior are still searching for several other persons, presumed to be located in neighbouring countries.
