How a Japanese sees B&H?

Ambassador Ogawa oslobodjenje.baEight months after assuming the function of the third ambassador of Japan to B&H, the Ambassador Kazuya Ogawa is impressed with Bosnia and Herzegovina. B&H is a beautiful country with great economic potentials in the fields of mining, energy, agriculture, but those potentials are certainly not exploited well, they are not familiar to even the local population, and especially not to the strangers.

Ambassador Ogawa believes that one of the reasons for underutilization of all potentials that B&H possesses is the B&H political leadership which, basically, cares the most about its personal interests, the interests of their parties. What they should be taking care of instead is the well-being of all citizens, those who elected them, and they are leaving the young people, who are the future of this country, aside.

“It is a great pity for a country with great potentials in natural resources and beauty to be underdeveloped, but the fact is that B&H is one of the least developed countries of Europe,” the Ambassador Ogawa said.

According to Ambassador Ogawa, the good thing is that there is a lot of space for development, a great perspective for investing, that this is good for the future and that it should be worked more in this direction.

“Investments are at a truly low level in B&H. European Countries might have invested more, while Japan did not invest a lot so far. My primary goal is to increase the interest of Japan and the Japanese companies for development and investing in B&H. In this year we are marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between B&H and Japan and, on this occasion, we are to organize a series of events that will encompass this field,” Ambassador Ogawa highlighted.

Ambassador Ogawa plans to hold investment seminars and, during his stay, he will also organize visits to B&H companies as potential partners of investors, as well as visits to high B&H officials with the aim of facilitating cooperation on higher levels.
