HR Schmidt meets Norwegian Special Representative for Western Balkans

High Representative Christian Schmidt met yesterday with Norwegian Special Representative for the Western Balkans Arne Bjornstad and the Norwegian Ambassador to BiH Olav Reinertsen, and briefed them on the current situation in BiH.

Also, the President of the Republika Srpska Zeljk Cvijanovic met with Bjørnstad yesterday.

The current political situation in the RS and BiH, internal political processes and other current topics in BiH and the region were discussed at the meeting in the Palace of the Republic.

During the meeting, Cvijanovic emphasized that the current political crisis in the institutional functioning of BiH can be overcome through talks, as the main method of functioning and work.

She assessed that political dialogue and peaceful resolution of open political issues in BiH, in accordance with the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution of BiH, are of key importance.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to BiH Olav Reinertsen.
