In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Zlatan Ibrahimović answered the question of who is the best player with whom he played, and the answer he gave was not expected by anyone.
In a series of short questions answered by Gazzetta’s journalist, Ibrahimović received one that read: “Who is the best player you played with?”.
Although Ibrahimović during his career played with greats like Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Wesley Sneider, David Beckham, Clarence Seedorf, Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Del Piero… he chose Patrick Vieira as the best player.
Ibrahimović played with the French midfielder at Juventus (2005/2006) and Inter (2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009) and was clearly impressed by what he did on the pitch.
It is certainly a surprise, but it should not be surprising, given that Ibrahimovic has already explained that the Frenchman had the greatest influence on his career.
“When I met him at Juventus, he had a really different mentality than other players I knew. He taught me to play while we train. That’s how it works: If you train well, you play well. I don’t need to tell you what kind of player and professional he was “He had a profound impact on my career, pushing me to give 120 percent every day, every game,” Ibrahimovic once told L’Equipe.
Among other things, Ibrahimović revealed that he considers Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to be the best attackers today, and that Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta and Giorgio Chiellini are the defenders who gave him the most problems during his career, Klix.ba reports.
