Increase in Number of Vehicles stolen in Canton Sarajevo

In the area of ​​Sarajevo Canton, 64 vehicles were stolen in the past eight months, which is ten more than in the same period last year, according to data from the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior.

In just seven months of this year, 146 vehicles were stolen in the Federation of BiH, and the growth in the number of stolen vehicles is evident in the Sarajevo Canton and Tuzla Canton. The number of stolen vehicles in the Sarajevo Canton is almost 2.5 times higher than the number of stolen vehicles in the entire Republika Srpska.

According to the official data of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republika Srpska, in eight months of this year, 27 criminal acts related to the theft of a motor vehicle were reported. The number of criminal offenses related to the theft of motor vehicles is lower by 32.5 percent compared to the comparable period.

In the observed period, the police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republika Srpska found and returned to the owners 28 vehicles, of which 16 were stolen on the territory of the Republika Srpska, three on the territory of the Federation of BiH and nine vehicles wanted by Interpol, Srna news agency reports.
