In the next two weeks, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to see the increased movement of EUFOR vehicles on roads and railways throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As announced by EUFOR, these activities are related to the return of strategic reserve forces of EUFOR, and their added elements, from Bosnia and Herzegovina to France, Italy and Romania.
“Elements of the EUFOR reserve forces are regularly deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina for training (for example, for our annual ‘Rapid Response’ exercise),” EUFOR stated.
They added that this reserve force rotation system additionally strengthens EUFOR’s efforts to provide support to BiH authorities in maintaining a safe and stable environment.
“As well as combined training with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” EUFOR announced.
We would like to remind you that in April, members of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina had numerous activities as part of the military exercise “Meleager” which was carried out on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and members of the Strategic Reserve Forces of EUFOR, i.e. soldiers from France, the Netherlands and Italy, participated in the exercise.
The soldiers practiced combat shooting with combined arms, and there was a presentation of weapons as well as an exchange of knowledge.
Soldiers also practiced precision shooting at rotating targets with different calibers of weapons.
“Exercise ‘MELEAGER’ aims to symbolize the strong ties between EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH. During their stay in BiH, these Strategic Reserve Forces will conduct training and patrolling with EUFOR forces, which will allow EUFOR to train the effective integration of the Strategic Reserve Forces into the structure of the EUFOR forces. They will also conduct training together with the EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH. This will further increase cooperation and interoperability between the EUFOR and the Armed Forces of BiH.”
