Sejfudin Tokić, President of the Bosniak movement for equality of nations, is to launch an initiative on behalf of this organization because of the fact that the curriculums of elementary and high school in BiH do not include anything about the genocide committed against Bosniaks between 1992 and 1995, the siege of Sarajevo, and the largest crimes committed at the territory of Europe after the Second World War.
This organization requests that the most broader coalition of non-governmental organizations, civil associations and prominent individuals from all spheres of life in BiH is made in the Sarajevo Canton and other areas, in order to achieve the goal of adequately representing the truth about the genocide against Bosniaks, the siege of Sarajevo, and Bosnian language in general, together with literature and history of Bosnia and the Bosniaks, in curriculums of elementary and high schools in the Sarajevo Canton.
“It is intolerable that children of the city that suffered the longest siege in the history of Europe and the biggest crimes after Hitler learn nothing about that in schools. Coalition of non-governmental organizations and the campaign ‘Truth about Genocide 92-95’ will last until the relevant bodies in the Sarajevo Canton and other areas do not make adequate changes in laws and curriculums that will enable the inclusion of the truth about the recent past of BiH into the education system.
We invite all patriotically oriented non-governmental organizations, associations and prominent individuals to join the coalition and participate in the fight for truth that will be learned by the present and future generations. The responsibility is on us to present to our children and future generations the historical documents and scientifically confirmed truth about the recent past and the suffering in BiH and the capital of our country,” Tokić said.
