In this way, at the same time, they supported a campaign called “No woman is invisible!” organized as part of the 16 Days of activism against gender based violence, which is aimed to raise awareness of the citizens about the existence and the ‘invisibility’ of women with disabilities, and to promote solidarity and understanding for their position in the local communities.

Anela Kadic, administrator of informal group of women “Special Mom”, which brings together more than 800 mothers of children with developmental disabilities, said that they are marginalized population, and that it is necessary to insist on the consistent application of the UN Convention that pleads for rights of persons with disabilities that BiH signed as well.

She emphasized that their status must be improved in all aspects of life, including better health care, expansion of the list of essential medicines and easier access to supplies, other benefits, as well as rehabilitation, the right to education, work and employment.

Organizers of the event emphasized the determination and solidarity of women and girls with disabilities, for elimination of all forms of discrimination, respect for diversity and equal opportunities for all social categories.
