NCB Interpol Podgorica issued 98 international warrants, and 273 warrants issued by Montenegro are currently active in Interpol’s database.

This is shown in the report on the work and situation in the administrative areas under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the organizational unit of the Ministry responsible for police affairs for the year 2023.

“There are currently 273 active warrants (red and diffusion) issued by NCB Interpol Podgorica in Interpol’s database. In the reporting period, 98 international warrants were issued. 69 international warrants were suspended. The most common reason for suspending international warrants is realized extradition (33), absolute statute of limitations (16), deprivation of liberty and detention in UIKS (10), withdrawal of the competent court (6)”, states the report published by the Government of Montenegro.

As they explain, 36 persons were extradited to Montenegro, while at the end of the year 50 persons are awaiting extradition to Montenegro.

“At the request of the Forensic Center, 36 cases involving 477 persons were processed to verify the identity of foreign nationals who committed criminal offenses in Montenegro,” the report says.
