13530567_1217911291593158_551293018_nApart from production plants, the Azerbaijani investors intend to invest in infrastructure projects in BiH too, thus opening a new page in the cooperation of the two countries.

The factory for potato processing was opened in Srebrenica. That will be the largest factory of its kind in the eastern part of Europe. At the same time, this factory is one of the most significant Azerbaijani investments in BiH.

“First of all, I must point out that this investment was implemented upon the initiative of Bakir Izetbegović, who suggested that we start working in Srebrenica, to find a suitable investment that will ensure workplaces there. For now, the factory will employ 30 people but in the near future that number will be tripled. If you count the subcontractors who will cooperate with the factory, we might say that thanks to this investment between 500 and 600 people will have a job. The investment is worth over 10 million BAM,” said the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to BiH Eldar Humbar Oglu Hasanov.

Ambassador Hasanov highlighted that according to the volume of operations this will be the largest factory in the Eastern Europe. This factory will process over 15.000 tons of potatoes annually and their products will be placed not only on the market of BiH and the neighboring countries of Serbia and Croatia, but also on the markets of the region, Hasanov added. Opening of the factory in Srebrenica was one of the topics of the meeting that the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović held with the Ambassador Hasanov two days ago. Apart from that, they discussed political, cultural and other forms of cooperation. However, economic topics dominated the meeting, and one of them is the Azerbaijani investment in the factory Bosanka in Ševarlije near Doboj.

“Two out of three stages in the reconstruction of the factory will be completed by the end of the year. The third stage will be completed during first five months of next year, and then the factory will be opened. This is a very significant investment because, as it is already known, the factory Bosanka is one of the largest agricultural complexes for the processing of fruits and vegetables in Europe,” Hasanov said.

In addition to production plants, the Azerbaijani investors are very interested in investing in infrastructural projects in BiH.

“There are already some concrete ideas about possibilities for investing in infrastructure in BiH. At the beginning of next month, representatives of the company Azvird from Azerbaijan will come and together with their colleagues from BiH they will talk about which concrete projects will be implemented. Azvird is one of the largest companies in Europe in the field of infrastructure,” Hasanovi said.

It is obvious that a new page in the cooperation of BiH and Azerbaijan is opening, within which the business cooperation of the two countries starts to take increasingly important position.
