Iran: We Will Abide by Ceasefire If Israel Honors the Agreement

Iran will abide by a ceasefire with Israel if it does not violate the agreement, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed.

In a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Pezeshkian said Israel and its allies were trying to stir up unrest inside Iran.

“The Iranian people, despite hardships and grievances, have stood united and steadfast against the opposing side,” his office quoted him as saying.

The Iranian leader said the United States was directly participating in Israel’s war against Iran in which “Israel has failed to achieve its goals.”

He accused Washington of “violating international law” by attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The Iranian president confirmed that his country was ready for dialogue and “to take the legitimate demands of the Iranian nation back to the negotiating table.”

Israel has carried out airstrikes on several sites across Iran since June 13, including military and nuclear facilities, claiming Tehran is on the verge of producing a nuclear bomb, a claim Iran has vehemently denied.

While Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes, the US joined the conflict by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities on Sunday.

After 12 days of aerial combat between the two regional arch-enemies, US President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire between Israel and Iran overnight to end their conflict.
