The Sarajevo International Airport delegation, led by Acting Director Dino Selimović, hosted the US Embassy delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with Acting Executive Director Slobodan Kadijević, Security Sector Director Senad Malić, and Airport Services Director Vedrana Musić.
The US Embassy Delegation included Economic and Commercial Officer Sarah Bedenbaugh, MGT/GSO Senior General Services Officer Dana Zebley, MGT/GSO Supervisory Travel Office Almir Arapović, and Commercial Specialist Edhem Branković.
“During the meeting held at the Airport, the delegations discussed possibilities of enhancing cooperation, focusing on a long-standing initiative for establishing direct flights between Sarajevo and destinations in the United States,” Sarajevo International Airport announced.
They paid special attention to strengthening economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the US. It was also emphasized that Sarajevo International Airport has been a member of the US Chamber in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AmCham BiH) since August, 2026, and that in the upcoming period, joint activities directed to connecting Bosnian and American companies, promoting investments, trade, export, and new business partnerships are planned.
The significance of protecting critical infrastructure, enhancing security standards, cooperation with the TSA, cybersecurity, and protection from unauthorized drone use were also discussed, including the Airport’s future developmental projects and the planned implementation of the ABC Gates system.
The US Embassy Representatives toured the Airport Terminal, EVIP, and Business Class Salon. They also familiarized themselves with current developmental projects and plans for further advancement of passenger experience.
Sarajevo International Airport remains firmly committed to the development of international connectivity, strengthening security standards, and enhancing business cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States. More destinations mean more opportunities for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
