Israel rejected Accusations of Genocide

Israel today strongly rejected accusations of genocide, telling the United Nations Supreme Court that it is doing everything it can to protect civilians during its military operation in Gaza.

The International Court of Justice has completed its third round of hearings on emergency measures requested by South Africa, which says Israel’s military invasion of the southern city of Rafah threatens “the very survival of Palestinians in Gaza” and has asked the court to order a ceasefire, reports France 24.

Tamar Kaplan Turgeman, one of the members of Israel’s legal team, defended Israel’s actions, saying it had allowed fuel and medicine to be delivered to the besieged enclave.

“Israel is taking extraordinary measures to reduce the damage to civilians in Gaza,” she said before the court in The Hague.

At least 35,303 Palestinians have been killed and 79,261 wounded in the Israeli military offensive in Gaza, according to the health ministry of the Hamas-run territory.
