Israel targeted Locations in Syria with heavy Bombs and bunker-busting Munitions

Israeli warplanes struck locations inside Syria using one-ton bombs and bunker-busting munitions, Israeli media reported.

Furthermore, it was reported that the military is working to destroy “every potential military target” of the ousted regime of Bashar al-Assad, including tanks, warplanes, intelligence headquarters, and advanced military equipment.

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the collapse of the disengagement agreementmonitored by the United Nations (UN), which had established a buffer zone between Israel and Syria after Syrian regime forces withdrew from the area following the fall of Assad’s regime.

“The Israeli military stated that its forces advanced several kilometers into the demilitarized buffer zone on the occupied Syrian Golan Heights but claimed they had no intention of advancing further,” it was reported.

In a statement on Monday, the military noted that paratrooper forces, joined by other troops, were deployed to key positions within the buffer zone and were conducting what it called defensive operations “to prevent any threats.”

On Sunday, the Israeli military conducted dozens of airstrikes across Syria on approximately 100 locations following the collapse of Assad’s regime.

Israeli media reported that the airstrikes targeted military bases, air defense positions, intelligence facilities, missile storage sites for both long- and short-range weapons, weapons production centers, and stockpiles of unconventional arms.

Syria has been embroiled in a civil war for 13 years, and after a period of relative calm, clashes between Assad regime forces and anti-regime groups reignited on November 27th in rural areas west of Aleppo.

Opposition forces launched a lightning offensive, capturing key cities and, by Sunday, the capital, Damascus. The rapid advance, supported by defected military units, led to the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime after 13 years of civil war.

Assad and his family fled to Moscow, where they were granted asylum by Russia, BHRT writes.
