Israeli cyber company raises 17 mln USD to tackle network attacks

JERUSALEM, June 25 (Xinhua) — Israeli cyber company IntSights announced Sunday that it had raised 17 million U.S. dollars in round C of fund raising to monitor and protect against network attacks, local media reported.
“The current financing round will fuel an additional investment in the cyber detection capabilities we develop,” said the company CEO Guy Nitzan, quoted by the Hebrew-language financial newspaper Calcalist.
The company has developed a system for monitoring and protecting against network attacks, focusing on scanning the dark network, the report said.
The intelligence gathered in these scans is translated into automatic defense operations, it added.
Nitzan also noted that “the industry needs coordinated intelligence that looks beyond the firewall, sees these attack signs and understands how, why, and when it will take place.”
The system presents the data to the customer on a user-friendly platform that can be operated by only one analyst, and makes the field accessible, as it is usually available mainly to governments and large organizations due to its high costs.
The company has offices in the United States, the Netherlands, Japan and Singapore, and intends to expand its operations to additional markets following the fund raising.
