Israeli drones flew at low altitude over several areas in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, dropping stun bombs near a border village, which is a new violation of the truce with Hezbollah.
According to Lebanese media, the drones were seen over the coastal region of Tyre and neighboring towns, as well as the areas of Qasmiyeh and Al-Jouar.
In one incident, a drone dropped stun bombs over the settlement of Kroum al-Sharqi, east of the village of Mais al-Jabal, near the Israeli border. No injuries were reported.
Israel launched a military offensive in Lebanon on October 8th, 2023, which escalated into a large-scale war by September 2024, in which more than 4.000 people were killed and around 17.000 were wounded.
A ceasefire was reached in November last year, but Israeli forces have been conducting almost daily attacks in southern Lebanon, claiming they were targeting the activities of the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
According to the truce, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 26th, but the deadline was extended to February 18th after Tel Aviv refused to comply. Israel still maintains a military presence at five border outposts.
