It is necessary to draw clear, precise and unambiguous Rules on Hookah Bars

hookah2From 9th to 12th of May, market and tourism inspectors of the Cantonal Administration Canton Sarajevo surveillanced 25 hookah bars in the municipality of Stari Grad and Novo Sarajevo.

Inspections found that the arrangements for the work of the municipal authority, which control entities permitted to perform catering business, do not include the service of preparing the mixture for hookah and hookah service for customers.

“Based on the legislation this activity has not been determined as catering, so inspectors made it clear that those bars need to work in accordance with the Law on Catering of the Federation. If the caterers who not conform to the provision of services in accordance with the law, inspectors will ban those activities in accordance with the provisions of the law.”

“In order to protect the health of the population, especially young people, Cantonal Administration for Inspection repeatedly pointed out the need to adopt legislation in this area, which must be clear, precise and unambiguous,”  said the representative of cantonal administration for Inspection of canton Sarajevo.
