The guest of the last “coffee with celebrities” within the Tuzla Film Festival was the Italian director Gianluca Loffredo.
During a half-an-hour coffee with the team of Tuzla Film Festival and other guests and media, Loffredo spoke about his musical documentary “No smoking in Sarajevo”, dedicated to the cultural rock band Zabranjeno Pušenje (Eng. No Smoking), as well as about his delight with the city of Tuzla.
“No smoking in Sarajevo” is a story that emerged on Koševo, just like the band itself. It is a story about music, about the war that tore the entire country apart, but also about the members of the band; said Loffredo at the beginning of the interview.
After that, the conversation shifted to the story about reactions of those about who this film actually is.
“Generally, everyone was satisfied and happy because of the film, but it is somewhat complicated to speak about individual reactions, given that I made some contacts before, and some after. I mostly communicated with Sejo, because I got his email first. In the beginning, this was supposed to be a film about Zabranjeno pušenje only, but eventually it turned out to be a story about three friends,” Loffredo explained.
Since Loffredo is not from the former Yugoslavia, he also commented on how difficult it was to understand the issue of a friendship that was torn apart because of nationalistic reasons.
“I am not sure that I understand all those events even today,” said Loffredo.
The film was screened last night at 7:30 in the National Theatre Tuzla, at the award ceremony, after which the Tuzla Film Festival was closed.
The entire interview will be published on the YouTube channel of the Tuzla Film Festival.
