The management of the Olympic Center (OC) Jahorina visited Wengen last weekend, where there was the World Cup, and they talked with representatives of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and World Cup organizers. The topic of the discussion was to include the Ski Center Jahorina in the FIS Program, and the possibility to hold the World Cup race on Jahorina.
Both sides agreed on submitting the candidacy and we are delighted to talk about the possibility of holding the World Cup race right on our newly redesigned trails.
Apart from that, a meeting was held with the director of Wengen, Marco Luggen, who stated that the number of skiers in the world and their ski center has decreased since 2008, and this year’s outstanding results of OC Jahorina are even more important because of the record 55.000 skiers only until January 17th 2018, which is more than twice as big as in 2016.
Jahorina is certainly a destination you need to visit in the coming period, considering the well prepared trails, as well as numerous facilities and discounts.
Apart from that, in the period from January 18th until January 21st 2018, when there is the first of the three Top Ski Weekends of this season, we grant a discount of 20% to all Jahorina’s visitors on all ski tickets bought and used in the mentioned period. After this term, the Top Ski Weekend and 20% discount on all ski tickets will be held in the periods: February 22nd – February 25th and March 1st – March 4th 2018.
An international competition in alpine disciplines, FIS CUP “Jahorina 2018” will be held this weekend on Jahorina. Competition in the slalom and giant slalom skiing disciplines will be held on the trail Praca – Skocine.
The FIS CUP “Jahorina 2018” is also one of the test races for the European Youth Olympics Festival (Eyof) 2019.
