Japan grants over 100,000 Euros for Health Centers in BiH

Japanese ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, ITO, attended handover ceremony in Petrovac two days ago. The ceremony for “The Project for Equipping Health Care Center Drinic in Petrovac with an Ambulance Vehicle and Medical Equipment“ was welcomed by Smilja Bulajic, Director of Health Care Center Drinic in Petrovac with the presence of Drago Kovacevic, Mayor of Municipality of Petrovac.

Kovacevic gave a welcoming address and expressed his appreciation for Japan’s assistance. Ambassador ITO expressed his gratitude of the completion of the project and expected further cooperation.

The Government of Japan granted 50,114 EUR (approx. 98,000 BAM) to this healh care center for equipping one ambulance vehicle and two defibrillators.

On 8 March 2022, Ambassador ITO attended handover ceremony in Nevesinje. Prior to the ceremony, he
visited City Hall of Municipality of Nevesinje, and met Milenko Avdalovic, Mayor of the Municipality.

Avdalovic expressed his gratitude for Japan’s supports to the Municipality. Ambassador ITO expressed his wish for further developing relations in various fields including socio-economic cooperation for the future.

The ceremony was for “The Project for Equipping Health Center Nevesinje in Nevesinje with an Ambulance Vehicle and Medical Equipment“ held at 10:20, and he was welcomed by Zarko Tamindzija, Director of Health Center Nevesinje.

The Government of Japan granted 53,869 EUR (approx. 105,400 BAM) to this healh care center for equipping one ambulance vehicle and medical equipment including defibrillator and aspirator, etc.

On this occasion, Alen Seranic, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republika Srpska delivered a gratitude word to the Ambassador.

These two projects implemented with Japan’s “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GAGP)” program, have contributed to the improvement of health care environment in these health care centers. Direct projects beneficiaries are about 6,830 patients annually in these two health care centers in total.
