jelen demo festivalThe EU Special Representative in BiH will support this year’s Jelen Demofest as the Festival’s honorary sponsor. The Jelen Demofest is the largest music festival for demo bands in the Western Balkans region.

“There’s no doubt that Jelen Demofest is one of the major cultural events of Banja Luka and Bosnia and Herzegovina, radiating positive energy throughout the region and Europe every summer”, said the Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, Ambassador Peter Sorensen.

He emphasized that the Festival was developed by the enthusiasm and efforts of people who believe in potentials of their community, their city and their country.

“The EU applauds them for that and our support shows we always stand with those who promote tolerance, cooperation and hard work for the citzens’ benefit”, concluded Ambassador Sorensen.

The organizers of the Jelen Demofest stressed that they are honoured by the decision of the EU Special Representative to support the Festival for the second consecutive year.

“This might be a good indicator that the Festival is preordained to spread soon across our region’s borders”, said the Director of Jelen Demofest, Brankica Jankovic.

The Jelen Demofest starts on Thursday, 17 July, at the Kastel Fortress in Banja Luka.
