Kate Middleton Makes Rare Public Appearance After Extended Absence

Kate Middleton recently returned to official duties.

Today, she and her husband, Prince William, met and greeted the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the first of his three wives, Sheikha Jawaher, in London.

The Princess of Wales appeared in a long burgundy coat with a hat in the same color. She wore jewelry that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II. She stood smiling and posed next to Prince William. This was the princess’s first public appearance in more than a month.

Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is the fourth son of the former Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and his second wife. Although he was not first in line to the throne, thanks to his abilities he managed to win the position. Even before replacing his father in office, the Emir was involved in politics, but did not hold high positions. He was educated in the UK.

As a reminder, the Princess of Wales recently finished chemotherapy. In mid-September, she slowly began to return to her official duties.

Then, in a touching video, she spoke about her battle with cancer.

“As summer draws to a close, I can’t tell you how relieved I am to finally be done with chemotherapy. The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we had to find a way to weather the stormy waters and the unknown road,” she said in the video, adding that her road to full recovery is long and that she will do anything to stay healthy.
