Prime Minister of the Canton Sarajevo, Elmedin Konakovic, formed the working group for making a text of the Law on Declaration, Origin and Control of the property of elected officials, holders of executive functions and consultants in Canton Sarajevo, and held the first meeting two days ago with members of this expert body on the theme of its re-launching.
This expert group will work voluntary, and is consisted of representatives of the Student Parliament of the University in Sarajevo, Association of students of the Law Faculty, Attorney General of Canton Sarajevo, Ministry of Justice and Administration of Canon Sarajevo and Office of the Prime Minister.
“Given that you are mostly young lawyers, making of this extremely important legal act is entrusted to you, because in the future, we expect you to be holders of the legal order in Canton Sarajevo, but in our country as well“, emphasized the Prime Minister Konakovic on this occasion.
At the meeting, it was emphasized once more that adoption of this Law would contribute to raising the awareness of the level of confidence in legitimate and impartial conduction of public functions and would strengthen the confidence of public in functioning of the political system and its institutions.
Otherwise, this law aims to establish the obligations of elected official, holders of the executive functions and consultants to report their property, incomes and origin of those incomes, in order to identify the significant and unjustified changes in the property, and to launch the administrative and criminal proceedings in accordance with the relevant laws and identify and prevent the conflict of interests in the conduction of functions.
