Kosarac: We will not give up the Position of Minister of Finance

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Staša Košarac, said that the election of the Minister of Finance of BiH is part of the package and that it is a position that belongs to the Republika Srpska, which he will not give up.

“We will not give up that position, and I can openly say that the Council of Ministers is “on the clock,” said Košarac.

He stated that this means that there is no adequate participation in the Management Board of the Indirect Tax Administration (ITA), the Fiscal Council and other institutions.

“We appeal that this issue is very significant and important that what belongs to Republika Srpska in the division be fulfilled through the election of the Minister of Finance, and later the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers,” Košarac said.

Košarac said that he wants the Council of Ministers of BiH to function and that the Minister of Finance and the Deputy Chairman of this Council must be elected.

“That position belongs to us, and now there are some who want to problematize it and condition it. There are no conditionality and those who condition it are keeping the Council of Ministers ‘on the ropes’ and putting us in a position where we will not be able to participate in making some decisions through the Fiscal Council, The Management Board of the ITA and the activities carried out by the Council of Ministers,” concluded Košarac.

He added that the representatives of the Republika Srpska are fighting only for what is the quota and what belongs to the Republika Srpska, and that the Minister of Finance of BiH is the quota of the RS.
