Slaven Kovačević, adviser to the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and candidate of this party for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attended on behalf of the cabinet of the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from among the Croatian people the ceremony marking the eighty-third anniversary of the “Battle of the Neretva” in Jablanica, Klix.ba writes.
On that occasion, Kovačević said that with a sense of pride he laid flowers in memory of the anti-fascists, who in a spectacular military action in 1943, in the Neretva valley, saved thousands of wounded, and at the same time defeated the fascist enemy in the continuation of the action.
“History remembers that and studies it today. On the other hand, I feel bitterness that today, among others, those who, with their votes, enabled the election of Thompson fans like Marin Vukoja to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who appeared at events where fascist slogans were shouted, or, on the other hand, the election of Zoran Krešić to the management of Federal Television, who, with his writing, affirms the war goals of the convicted joint criminal enterprise,” said Kovačević.
He added that it is clearly a matter of ideological confusion on the part of some or perhaps a abandonment of anti-fascist ideology, for the sake of their comfort.
He said that even today in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is a conflict between two concepts, fascist and anti-fascist.
“I would like to tell Ms. Darijana Filipović, as an ambitious lady, that she is absolutely right that this is a struggle between two concepts. One, the anti-fascist concept or anti-fascism with the equality of all people, which I personally represent, and the other, the cellophane-washed fascism of the ‘legitimate representation of the constituency of the people’ and ethno-territorial divisions through ethnic policies, which Ms. Filipović obviously represents. So, we have another fight of anti-fascism against all manifestations of fascism ahead of us. Finally, unlike her, I will be cheering for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team at the upcoming World Cup in the jersey of our country’s national team, wrapped in the anti-fascist flag with lilies, the same flag under which the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was admitted to the United Nations,” concluded Kovačević.
