Lagumdžija-Hill: International Community Needs to Support Western Balkans Economically and Politically

lagumdzija and hillThe Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH dr. Zlatko Lagumdžija met with Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in BiH Nicholas M. Hill and his associates.

The focus of the meeting was activities related to strengthening of regional cooperation in the light of the upcoming Conference on Western Balkans in Berlin.

They agreed that strengthening of regional cooperation is a very important segment on BiH’s path to EU and Euro-Atlantic integration. Lagumdžija emphasized that current good relations between countries of the region is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the region economically with political and financial support of the EU and international community in general, which will indisputably lead to faster integration of the Western Balkan countries in the EU. Minister Lagumdžija informed Hill about specific projects that have been suggested by BiH within regional cooperation.

Discussing the upcoming Conference on the Western Balkans in Berlin, they said the Conference is execution of the EU’s stance in process of region’s integration in the EU through contribution to economic and social development and stronger regional connection, announced the PR Office of BiH MFA.
