At tomorrow’s meeting of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority, the Rulebook on the Application of the Law on the Abolition of VAT on Donated Food should be adopted, the proponent of the Law, Saša Magazinović, a member of the PSBiH House of Representatives, confirmed for BHRT.

The Administration for Indirect Taxation answered for our television that the Management Board will adopt the Rulebook on Amendments to the VAT Law at the next session, after which the Act will be published in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its application will begin.

So far, it has been cheaper for companies to destroy food than to donate it, considering that those who donate food to public kitchens have to pay 17 percent of the PDV in addition to the donation, and it is mostly about goods that are about to expire.

The House of Peoples of PSBiH on June 15 unanimously passed a law abolishing the payment of tax on donated food, proposed by the House of Representatives of the state parliament.
