bih i sadThe American University to BiH organized yesterday in Sarajevo a lecture on the topic “How to Export to the US and Conduct Business With American Partners”.

The Economic Advisor of the US Embassy to BiH presented practical aspects called “General System of Preferences” (GSP) for export products from the BiH to the US.

It is a strategic program for improving the economic growth of developing countries through preferential “duty-free” imports to the US for 4.800 products from 129 countries, among which is BiH.

As the products that are suitable for the GSP program are jewelry, various agricultural products, chemicals, minerals and carpets.

The products that are not suitable are mostly textile garments, watches, bags and other types of luggage, and products from leather.

It was pointed out that the increase in exports to the US in this arrangement should be used by GSP as a market tool, request GSP treatment, and identifies products that are suitable for this program that BiH has already exported to other markets.

The US recently lengthened preferential tariff treatment of products from BIH until August 2013.
