Local Politicians Need to Reach A Solution

INZKOThe High Representative to B&H Valentin Inzko was in Banja Luka yesterday and reiterated that the international community is encouraging local politicians to reach an agreement on the implementation of the “Sejdić-Finci“ case on their own.

He said that the meeting in Brussels on 1 October, which was scheduled by the European Commissioner for Enlargement Štefan Fule, was a good opportunity for that.

‘’Politicians in B&H essentially want for B&H to join the European Community and to be a part of that family. If they really want that, it makes no sense for the international community to impose a solution’’, said Inzko. He repeated that B&H has to demonstrate on its own that it is able to meet some minimum requirements.

He said that the implementation of ‘’Sejdić-Finci“ is about the respect for human rights, and B&H politicians have to show that they are able to solve it so that Brussels and surrounding countries would support them.

They also discussed the general elections next year and problems with the Electoral Law.
