Rules and information for participation
Do you have affinities for design?
Association KULTART published an invitation to all creative people, regardless of their gender, age and place of residence, to participate in this year’s “Waste is Taste”.
Since 2012, “Waste is Taste” is gathering young and professional designers from BiH and the region, who are creating the fashion creations from waste materials.
Everyone interested in this project have the opportunity to try themselves in the field of fashion design, and demonstrate their creativity by participating in the creation of innovative creations from unconventional materials.
Applications are open until midnight (00:00) on the 31st of March 2017, after which all works and creations will be evaluated by experts.
On the 31st of March 2017 will be published the names of all applicants who meet the criteria, and who will participate in the fashion show in Sarajevo.
Participants will be notified via e-mail whether their work met the criteria and whether it is selected for the show.
How to Apply?
It is necessary to submit photos of your creation, which does not necessarily have to be professional. It is just necessary to see the front and back sides, and they have to be done on a live model or on a sewing doll.
A brief description of the model, inspiration, materials used, how it is made and how the creation represents the importance of preserving the environment, should be submitted together with photos.
Photos of models have to be submitted on the e-mail address pr@wasteistaste.com entitled with “Prijava na konkurs” with the basic personal data, model description and telephone number.
The selection of works and the jury
After the competition is closed, expert’s jury will select the best works, which will be presented on the main event in Sarajevo.
Fashion show will also have competition character, where everyone selected will present their works before the expert jury.
Awards
The 1st place: Project partner Courtyard Marriot in Sarajevo will reward the best designer with a two-day stay for two.
The first three places will receive unique prizes / sculptures by academic sculptor Delila Manso, while all participants will receive a thank you note.
